Aspen & Meursault

A hidden gem despite TimeOut London's callout of Aspen as the No.1 'new wine bar around the world for 2021'!

Aspen & Meursault is a cafe by day and a low-intervention wine bar by night.

Price range: ££

If you ever find yourself wandering through Battersea Park on a warm summer evening, you must detour off Albert Bridge Road and treat yourself to a chilled glass of orange wine. And if you're more of an autumn stroller, catching the golden hour on a Sunday afternoon, do the same—but swap that for a cozy glass of red. 🍷

Let me tell you, Aspen & Mersault is the kind of wine bar that feels like a hidden treasure—except Timeout Magazine already spilled the beans when they crowned it the No. 1 new bar in the world in 2021! I didn’t know that when I first visited, but it didn’t surprise me one bit after experiencing it. This place is hands-down the reigning champ of wine bars on my blog so far.

As someone who's never been served by a sommelier before, my visits here have been next-level. The staff? Incredible. They talk about the wines and vineyards with such passion and detail, it’s like they’re giving you a mini wine tour without the airfare. And the food? Also seasonal, but if you’re lucky enough to catch the smoky burrata and cabbage on the menu—order it immediately! Trust me.

The best part? Aspen & Mersault can be as fancy or as affordable as you like. Just let them know your budget, and they’ll find the perfect wine to match it. It’s an intimate, cozy spot that’s perfect for date night or a good catch-up with a close friend. I actually celebrated my birthday here recently, and they surprised me with a private room for my group of 10. It was stunning, the ideal setting for a special occasion.

Highly, highly recommend this gem.
