Bambi

Bambi is a warm, buzzy, music-led wine bar in London Fields, serving a range of modern European small plates.

Price Range: ££

There are people who like to share food, and people who like to order their own -- Bambi is for the sharers! There is definitely an uptick in the number of restaurants offering this style of dining, unless I'm just completely new to enjoying them! As a long time lover of your classic Spanish tapas, the rise in what I can only categorise as 'Seasonal Small Plate' restaurants is well and truly welcomed!

I went to Bambi with three friends (shoutout to Meg, Em and Ellie) and we shared some unreal food as an early birthday celebration for myself and it was the perfect location for a vibey catch up! Bambi has a 'curated music programme' backed by a 'high fidelity sound system', so you're sure to have no awkward silences if you choose to come here on a first date!

Onto the food and you heard it here first ... “Guys…I have something to tell you. These are the best chips I’ve ever had.” — Robinson, M (Sept, 2024).

And Meg wasn't wrong -- I'm ngl, they were SUPER crispy (surely triple cooked), fluffy on the inside with a light dusting of salty spice. My personal fave was the Whole Seabream. It melted in your mouth and had a crispy Lemon skin 🍋🤌🏼 . Next up on the podium was the Grilled Peaches on a bed of Ricotta - it was a beautifully bright dish and a fresh pairing with the Chicken 🍑

We also ordered:

- NOCELLARA OLIVES (chunky & meaty 10/10) 🫒

- CAULIFLOWER SKEWER, black garlic glaze, pepper sauce and pickled mustard seeds

- CHICKEN SKEWER, dill and mint salad

- BAVETTE, roasted and pickled mushroom, bone marrow, garlic brown butter

Note, the menu at Bambi changes regularly with chef residencies!
